Codice del Fuego, or Codex of Fire, is a painting by Ecuadorian artist Nelson Roman (1945 ¨C ). The painting consists of four panels which depict anthropomorphic and zoomorphic elements (human-like and animal-like shapes), mystical magic symbolism of the ancient South American and Western cultures. 

The colors, shapes and feather elements create a dramatic space in which the artist conveys a message of defense of human rights, the environment and ancient cultures. 

This piece is a part of the series ¡°Codexes¡± created on the 500th anniversary of the landing of western peoples in the Americas. It is a polyptych composed by four panels of mixed media and techniques on canvas. 

The gift was presented by the Permanent Representative of Ecuador, Mr. Mario Aleman, to the Âé¶¹APP, and Chef de Cabinet Mr. Iqbal Riza accepted it on behalf the Âé¶¹APP.
