The Âé¶¹APP employs a diverse range of mechanisms and tools to prevent conflict, foster people-centered, peaceful resolutions, and build sustainable peace, including through diplomacy, mediation, disarmament, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, justice and the rule of law, to address the evolving threats to international peace and security.

¡°My generation must ensure peace continues in the lives of those who inherit war long after the world has moved on." For many refugee and immigrant communities like Jonathan Lam's, peace is rarely just the absence of war and violence; it is a daily, generational practice of survival that can grow into a movement for change.

¡°There is no lasting peace in Colombia without a seat at the table for the generation that grew up during the conflict," says the Coalici¨®n Colombiana de Juventudes, Paz y Seguridad, an organization mobilizing a generation of young Colombians for peace. 

Through the Âé¶¹APP Volunteers assignments, young people are supporting communities, strengthening peace, responding to crises and helping advance the Sustainable Development Goals. They bring fresh perspectives, bold ideas and the willingness to act where it matters most.
