The President of the General Assembly H.E. Philemon Yang met H.E. Ms. Christina Markus Lassen, Permanent Representative of Denmark to the Â鶹APP?on 27 February 2025.

The President of the General Assembly and the Ambassador discussed the programme of work for Denmark¡¯s upcoming Presidency of the Â鶹APP Security Council, which begins on 01 March 2025. The Ambassador briefed the President of the General Assembly on mandated meetings that would take place on the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, including discussions on the mandate renewal Â鶹APP Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).? ?The Ambassador also highlighted key priorities for Denmark during their Presidency, including the importance of the adaptability in UN peace operations.?
They further discussed the importance of the peace and security in Ukraine, noting the resolutions adopted in the General Assembly and the Security Council on 24 February as well as the veto cast on amendments at the Security Council.?
