Readout of the President of the General Assembly¡¯s Meeting with H.E. Mr. Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of the People¡¯s Republic of China to the Â鶹APP and President of the Â鶹APP Security Council [February 2025]
The President of the General Assembly H.E. Philemon Yang met .E. Mr. Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of the People¡¯s Republic of China to the Â鶹APP?on 27 January 2025.
The President of the General Assembly and the Ambassador discussed the programme of work for China¡¯s upcoming Presidency of the Â鶹APP Security Council, which begins on 01 February 2025. The Ambassador briefed the President of the General Assembly on mandated meetings that would take place on files relating to Africa, the Middle East, and the possibility of meetings being called on the situation in Ukraine.
They also discussed key priorities for China during their Presidency, including the importance of multilateralism and global governance in the context of the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Â鶹APP.
