On 15 July 2025, His Excellency Ambassador Eloy Alfaro de Alba (center), Chair of the 1540 Committee, presided over the 107th formal meeting of the Committee. The Committee discussed the existing matrix template, the organization of the next Points of Contact training in Latin America and the Caribbean, the multi-year programme of outreach, and plans to hold an open briefing in 2025. The Group of Experts briefed the Committee on reviewing the status of assistance requests.
From June 23 to 26, 2025, organizers, experts, and participants convened in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for the Regional Workshop to Promote the Universalization of the CPPNM and its Amendment. The workshop was attended by representatives from 16 African nations, who engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening national and regional nuclear security through adherence to and effective implementation of the CPPNM and its Amendment.
