Learning with Rural Communities: Student Experiences in Darfur & Omdurman

Sudan faces the world¡¯s largest humanitarian crisis, with conflict driving mass displacement, collapsing services, and widespread violence. Despite this, Ahfad University for Women advances SDG 1 through community engagement. Student Buthaina Mamour Musa shares experiences in Darfur and rural Omdurman, highlighting youth volunteering, women¡¯s leadership, and agriculture as inclusive, community-led solutions strengthening resilience in crisis-affected communities.

The ocean is intrinsic to our life on Earth. It covers three?quarters of the Earth¡¯s surface,?contains?97 percent of its water, and?represents?99 percent of the planet¡¯s living space by volume.
