The Symposium will also show the Committee’s support to the OIC call for international action to stop Israel’s war in Gaza and to relaunch the Middle East Peace Process based on international law and UN resolutions leading to a comprehensive and sustainable peace as well as the independence of the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The opening session will include the OIC Secretary-General, the UN General Assembly Palestine Committee Chair and a Representative of the State of Palestine. The panel discussion will feature the Minister for Jerusalem of the State of Palestine and Palestinian civil society representatives. The Symposium will be followed, in the afternoon, by an event on Palestine organised by the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC).

All Member States and Observers, Â鶹APP organisations, intergovernmental and civil society organisations present in Saudi Arabia have been invited to attend.
