The\u00a0<\/span>UN Palestinian Rights Committee<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>organize<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>Virtual\u00a0<\/span>Event<\/span>\u00a0on the margins of the\u00a0<\/span>sixty-fifth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)\u00a0<\/span>on<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/span>Women, Peace and Security and Beijing+25: Progress and Challenges for Women and Girls in Palestine<\/span>\u201d on<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>10 March<\/span><\/b>\u00a02021<\/span><\/b>\u00a0from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. (New York Time)<\/span><\/b>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>via\u00a0<\/span>WebEx<\/span>. The event will also be livestreamed on UN Web TV.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will be organised as a panel<\/span>\u00a0conversation<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 moderated by\u00a0<\/span>Amb<\/span>. Adela Raz,\u00a0<\/span>Vice-Chair of the Committee and\u00a0<\/span>Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the UN \u2013\u00a0<\/span>with three\u00a0<\/span>Palestinian women officials and civil society representatives, from different regions of the occupied Palestinian territory and across generations<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Ms. Hind Khour<\/span>y, f<\/span>ormer Palestinian Minister\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0Jerusalem\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Ambassador to France; H.E. Amal\u00a0<\/span>Jadou<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs<\/span>; and\u00a0<\/span>Ms. Nour\u00a0<\/span>Swirki<\/span>, activist and journalist in Gaza<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will shed light on the\u00a0<\/span>unique situation of Palestinian women under occupation\u00a0<\/span>as well as on\u00a0<\/span>their roles and actions within Palestinian society and institutions to end the occupation, while emphasizing ways for the international community to provide support, including through the CSW.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants will consist of Committee Members<\/span>\/Observers<\/span>\u00a0and the\u00a0<\/span>Palestinian women panelists<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

All Member States, intergovernmental and civil society organizations as well as the public and media will be invited to follow the event and pose questions.
