The event was<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> hel<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> with the participation of the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Bureau of the Committee<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and was<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">livestreamed on the Committee Facebook page<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UN.palestinianrights\/\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UN.palestinianrights\/<\/a><\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">conversation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> addressed the recent and current developments in the occupied Gaza Strip during the Global Coronavirus Pandemic<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">UNRWA <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">assistance to Palestine refugees in the Gaza Strip<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">and the need for continued international resolve to support the Agency including with emergency funding<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">During <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">his <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">more than 24 years of professional experience in international humanitarian and development organizations, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Mr. Schmale<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> has held numerous senior management positions<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">; he <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">served<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the British Red Cross, and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">International Save the Children Alliance. For UNRWA<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> he has served as <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">director for Lebanon, for Syria, and for its Representative Office in New York<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
