OCHA reports attacks\u00a0by\u00a0Israeli\u00a0settlers in the\u00a0West Bank\u00a0continue to cause Palestinian casualties,\u00a0displacement\u00a0and property damage.<\/p>\n
Yesterday,\u202fthe\u00a0UN\u00a0Deputy Special Coordinator,\u202fRamiz Alakbarov,\u202fsaid<\/a>\u202fin a statement that arson attacks on two mosques near Ramallah are unacceptable and must be condemned.<\/p>\n Since this Sunday,\u00a0four mosques have been affected by arson attacks\u00a0\u2013 all in Ramallah governorate.<\/p>\n Dr. Alakbarov\u00a0warned of a\u00a0worrying\u00a0escalation of violence that must be stopped urgently.\u00a0He stressed that such acts threaten the fabric of communities and risk further inflaming tensions. And\u00a0he\u00a0called for accountability for perpetrators.<\/p>\n Last Friday, also in the Ramallah area, two Palestinian herding families \u2013 two women and eight children \u2013 were forced to relocate for the second time this year due to settler attacks and intimidation.<\/p>\n Further north, in Tulkarm, Israeli forces yesterday allowed displaced Palestinians to access their homes in two refugee camps to retrieve personal belongings. Local partners assess that some 65 families were permitted entry for a limited time, more than a year after their initial displacement.<\/p>\n According to the UN Reliefs and Works Agency, more than 33,000 Palestinians from these camp areas as well as from Jenin Camp have been displaced and not allowed to return since January 2025.<\/p>\n Health\u00a0partners\u00a0report that, as of Sunday,\u00a0more than 30 emergency medical teams were deployed across the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n Partners working on sexual and reproductive health are maintaining services through hundreds of medical points. This includes 10 mobile units that help reach areas with limited access.<\/p>\n Health partners\u00a0also say they are expanding mental health\u00a0and\u00a0psychosocial\u00a0support\u00a0services\u00a0for children and adolescents.<\/p>\n At the same time, they\u00a0warn that\u00a0certain health supplies\u00a0are running low, particularly items that are difficult to bring in.\u00a0These\u00a0include\u00a0high-level disinfectants\u00a0needed for surgeries,\u00a0insulin\u00a0and hemodialysis supplies for the treatment of\u00a0non-communicable diseases,\u00a0as well as\u00a0artificial\u00a0limbs\u00a0and\u00a0rehabilitation equipment.<\/p>\n WHO\u00a0recently\u00a0took\u00a0120 wheelchairs into Gaza; however, partners report that\u00a0assistive devices\u00a0often\u00a0wear out\u00a0or\u00a0break down within weeks due to the\u00a0damaged and uneven\u00a0surfaces they are used on.\u00a0With the scale of injuries from\u00a0hostilities over recent years, the number of people requiring such devices is significantly\u00a0higher\u00a0than\u00a0what\u00a0can be\u00a0brought in.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 18 June 2026 OCHA reports attacks\u00a0by\u00a0Israeli\u00a0settlers in the\u00a0West Bank\u00a0continue to cause Palestinian casualties,\u00a0displacement\u00a0and property damage.
