Yesterday, humanitarian teams were able to pick up food and fuel from the crossing, and more collection efforts were ongoing as of earlier today. However, humanitarian partners warn that Kerem Shalom remains the only crossing point for cargo to enter Gaza, which results in congestion and limits to operations.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the UN and humanitarian partners continue\u00a0supporting\u00a0people\u00a0inside\u00a0Gaza, most\u00a0of whom remain displaced.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday,\u00a0the\u00a0World Food\u00a0Programme\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/wfp-palestine-emergency-response-external-situation-report-90-reporting-period-1-31-may-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0in\u00a0May, it reached\u00a0about\u00a01.4\u00a0million people with assistance, including food parcels, bread bundles, hot meals, and malnutrition treatment. To help\u00a0feed families,\u00a0WFP\u00a0provided cash\u00a0assistance\u00a0to\u00a0about\u00a0half a million\u00a0people, and hundreds of others were\u00a0engaged in\u00a0the\u00a0cash-for-work\u00a0programme, working\u00a0on\u00a0carpentry\u00a0and\u00a0sewing.<\/p>\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OHCHR_Palestine\/status\/2064705224409792707?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social media statement<\/a>\u00a0today, the Office of the Âé¶¹APP High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) agency said that yesterday,\u00a0Palestinian\u00a0armed elements\u00a0detained several Palestinians, including seven ambulance crew members from the Palestine Red Crescent Society, on Salah\u00a0Ad Din\u00a0Road in Gaza.\u00a0Two of them remain detained in an unknown location.<\/p>\n<p>OHCHR called for the immediate release of the healthcare workers and called upon Israel\u2019s obligations to ensure public order and safety in Gaza and to refrain from, as well as\u00a0prevent,\u00a0such\u00a0violations of international law,\u00a0including the obstruction of medical services.<\/p>\n<p>Turning to the West Bank,\u00a0there continue to be reports of violence\u00a0by Israeli forces and\u00a0settlers against Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p>Since the beginning of January, and as of this Monday, 57 Palestinians, including 13 children and two women, have been killed across the West Bank. Of these, 41 were killed by Israeli forces, 13 by Israeli settlers, and three by either Israeli forces or settlers.<\/p>\n<p>So far this year, OCHA has documented more than 980 settler-related incidents resulting in casualties or property damage across over 230 communities\u00a0\u2013\u00a0an average of six incidents per day.<\/p>\n<p>The UN reiterates their call for the protection of civilians,\u00a0including healthcare workers,\u00a0and full respect for international law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; 10 June 2026 OCHA reports that the Rafah crossing\u00a0has\u00a0now\u00a0reopened for the movement of a limited number of people\u00a0in both directions.
