Riyad Mansour, speaking for Palestine alongside the Arab and OIC groups, warned that the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is \u201cextremely deteriorating\u201d and \u201cextremely dangerous,\u201d particularly in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. He argued that Israel\u2019s government may use the wider regional conflict as cover to pursue \u201cannexation,\u201d expand settlements, and take \u201cpractical step[s]\u201d toward destroying the two-State solution. Mansour called on the Security Council to act, stating that \u201cthese crimes should be stopped,\u201d \u201cthese illegal policies and practices should be condemned,\u201d and Israel \u201cshould be held accountable.\u201d He emphasized that Palestine \u201ccannot continue to wait on the margin,\u201d adding that \u201cjustice has to prevail\u201d and \u201cthis illegal occupation has to end.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Arab and OIC representatives echoed this appeal, describing Israeli measures as \u201caccelerated annexation\u201d and \u201cthe systematic dismantling of the Palestinian rights.\u201d They warned that the E1 settlement plan poses an \u201cextensional threat to Palestinian independence\u201d and called for its immediate reversal, along with an end to settlement expansion, forced displacement, attacks on holy sites, and restrictions on humanitarian access in Gaza. The OIC group condemned \u201cin the strongest terms Israel\u2019s attempts to entrench its illegal occupation and annexation,\u201d urging the Security Council and all states to take \u201curgent and effective measures\u201d and ensure accountability under international law.<\/p>\n
