Identical letters dated 2 April 2024 from the Permanent Representatives of Mauritania, Saudi Arabia and Uganda to the Â鶹APP addressed to the Secretary-General, the President of the General Assembly and the President of the Security Council<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We write to you in our capacities as the Chairs of the Arab Group, the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Group and the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) at the Â鶹APP in New York. Pursuant to the declarations and outcome documents adopted by our respective Summits, held in Riyadh on 11 November 2023 and Kampala on 19 and 20 January 2024, we take this opportunity to inform you of the support of the League of Arab States, OIC and NAM for the admission of the State of Palestine as a Member State of the Â鶹APP.<\/p>\n

As reaffirmed in relevant declarations and final outcome documents, our respective Groups and Movement support the application for admission by the State of Palestine, which was submitted in September 2011 and which remains pending a formal recommendation from the Security Council to the General Assembly to that effect.<\/p>\n

In this connection, we wish to bring to your attention that, as of this date, 140 Member States have recognized the State of Palestine, and we hereby enclose with the present letter the list of these States along with the dates of recognition, and corresponding group affiliations (see annex).<\/p>\n

We should be grateful if you would arrange to have the present letter and its annex distributed as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda items 35 and 116, and of the Security Council.<\/p>\n
