The Committee and the Division for Palestinian Rights of the UN Secretariat provide the information \u201cas is\u201d without warranty of any kind, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, or reliability of the information contained in the websites linked in the newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"text-align: center;\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\"><strong>NGO Action News<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>07 December 2015<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Middle East<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pchrgaza.org\/portal\/en\/\">Palestinian Center for Human Rights<\/a>\u00a0published its weekly\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pchrgaza.org\/portal\/en\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=11406:weekly-report-on-israeli-human-rights-violations-in-the-occupied-palestinian-territory-26-nov-02-dec-2015&amp;catid=84:weekly-2009&amp;Itemid=183\">report<\/a>\u00a0on Israeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt) covering the period 26 November \u2013 02 December 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>North America<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On 7 December, the Israel Palestine NGO Working Group hosted a discussion in New York City with the women-led organisation\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.coalitionofwomen.org\/\">Coalition of Women for Peace<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/ht\/d\/sp\/i\/223\/pid\/223\">Palestine Center of the Jerusalem Fund<\/a>\u00a0will present the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/ht\/d\/EventDetails\/i\/56717\/pid\/187\">screening of four short films<\/a> in an event entitled \u201cIt\u2019s Not Just Documentaries Project: films from the aftermath of the 2014 war in Gaza\u201d, in Washington D.C. on 17 December. Each film addresses a particular aspect of the suffering among civilians and the violations of their rights during and after the 2014 Israeli aggression in Gaza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/ht\/d\/sp\/i\/223\/pid\/223\">Palestine Center of the Jerusalem Fund<\/a>\u00a0received Ayman Odeh, Member of the Israeli Knesset for a conference on \u201cPalestinian Citizens of Israel Lead toward Justice, Freedom and Equality\u201d in Washington D.C. on 2 December. Video of the conference is available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/ht\/d\/sp\/i\/223\/pid\/223\">here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), will convene an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/databases\/dprtest\/ngoweb.nsf\/f12fded4d0597000852573fc005b9471\/8ab3392e7d9d302085257eff006b039a?OpenDocument\">International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem<\/a> in Jakarta, on 14 and 15 December 2015, under the theme \u201cAddressing the present and shaping the future of Jerusalem\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 16 December, the Committee will hold a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/databases\/dprtest\/ngoweb.nsf\/f12fded4d0597000852573fc005b9471\/8ab3392e7d9d302085257eff006b039a?OpenDocument\">Civil Society Forum<\/a>, on the subject of \u201cCivil society action in support of justice in Palestine and ending the occupation\u201d. The speakers from the Â鶹APP, Palestine, Indonesian and regional civil society will inform participants about the key issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (borders, refugees, Jerusalem, water, settlements etc.), the current situation on the ground including the humanitarian hardships and the human rights violations the Palestinians are enduring, and provide civil society with a venue to plan further action in support of Palestinian rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>All accredited and observer CSOs are welcome to attend. To register please write to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dpr-meeting@un.org\">dpr-meeting@un.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Webcast will be available and link will be shared shortly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 2 December, Mr. Nickolay Mladenov, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unsco.org\/Documents\/Statements\/SC\/2015\/Statement%20by%20UN%20Special%20Coordinator%20Mladenov%20-%202%20December%202015.pdf\">made a statement<\/a> on the Dawabsha family case.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unesco.org\/new\/en\/media-services\/single-view\/news\/unesco_supports_right_to_information_in_palestine\/#.V2lWp_krJQK\">UNESCO\u00a0organised\u00a0a seminar<\/a> with representatives of government and civil society in Ramallah on 1-2 December to lay the ground for the adoption of a Right to Information law in Palestine. The Seminar was organised in cooperation with the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Ministry of Information and attended by the key actors involved in the drafting and promoting of the right to information law, participants reviewed the latest draft of the law and agreed on amendments to bring it further in line with international standards and good practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unispal.un.org\/DPA\/DPR\/unispal.nsf\/47d4e277b48d9d3685256ddc00612265\/5ac7bf0ac4154ad285257f0d007da979?OpenDocument\">International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People<\/a>\u00a0was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/unisgeneva\/with\/22819439914\/\">observed<\/a> at the UN Headquarters in Geneva on 30 November.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 24 November, the Â鶹APP General Assembly adopted five resolutions on:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undocs.org\/A\/RES\/70\/15\">Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine<\/a>,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undocs.org\/A\/RES\/70\/12\">Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undocs.org\/A\/RES\/70\/14\">Special information programme on the question of Palestine of the Department of Public Information of the Secretariat<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undocs.org\/A\/RES\/70\/16\">Jerusalem<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.undocs.org\/A\/RES\/70\/13\">Division for Palestinian Rights<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A photo exhibit entitled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/un-dpa.tumblr.com\/post\/134528564774\/powerful-images-convey-gaza-childrens-struggles\">Palestinian Children: Overcoming Tragedies with Hope, Dreams, Resilience and Dignity<\/a>\u201d featuring photographs of Palestinian children in Gaza was inaugurated in the public lobby of the UN Secretariat on the evening of 23 November.
