The museum exhibits a selection of fifty powerful colour images from the archive of the Israeli Haaretz newspaper, dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and occupation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Europe<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>From 21 through 23 January, the Abbey theatre of Dublin presented the \u201cTheatre of Change Symposium\u201d and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsc.ie\/event\/dublin-theatre-of-change-with-gideon-levy-taiseer-merei-and-ray-dolphin-abbey-theatre\">a number of discussions<\/a>\u00a0on issues related to the Israeli occupation. The discussants for the event were:\u00a0<strong>Ray Dolphin<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from UN OCHA,\u00a0<strong>Taiseer Merei<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 director of Golan for Development NGO, and\u00a0<strong>Gideon Levy<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Journalist from Haaretz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In London, on 26 January, P21 Gallery will screen the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/film-where-should-the-birds-fly\/\">film<\/a>\u00a0by Fida Qishta \u201cWhere should the Birds fly?\u201d exploring the strength, hope and humanity of the people of Gaza. On 30 January, The Gallery is hosting an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.middleeastmonitor.com\/events\/23342-targeting-dissent-israels-crackdown-on-palestinian-citizens\">event<\/a>\u00a0\u201cTargeting dissent: Israel\u2019s crackdown on Palestinian citizens\u201d organized by The Middle East Monitor, chaired by Baroness\u00a0<strong>Hussein-Ece<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>Dr.\u00a0Yousef T. Jabareen<\/strong>\u2013 lecturer at the University of Haifa and Tel-Hai Academic College,\u00a0<strong>Dr.\u00a0Durgham Said<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Professor at Al-Quds University,\u00a0<strong>Malia Bouatti<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 from the National Union of Students and\u00a0<strong>Ben White<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a journalist, as panelists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Middle East<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On 6 February, in Bethlehem, the Joint Advocacy Initiative (JAI) along with the Alternative Tourism Group (ATG) are organizing the 9th\u00a0annual\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsc.ie\/event\/palestine-the-olive-tree-planting-program-a-program-for-civil-international-solidarity-with-palestinians-jai-atg\">Olive Planting Program<\/a>which features introductory presentations about the current situation in Palestine and the efforts against the separation wall. Events in the old city of Jerusalem will also take place. The programme is open to all interested individuals and NGO representatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In Bethlehem, on 1 April, the annual Palestine marathon \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/palestinemarathon.com\/\">the rights to movement<\/a>\u201d will take place.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Global<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Human Rights Watch on 19 January published a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hrw.org\/report\/2016\/01\/19\/occupation-inc\/how-settlement-businesses-contribute-israels-violations-palestinian\">report<\/a>: \u201cOccupation, Inc.: How Settlement Businesses Contribute to Israel\u2019s Violations of Palestinian Rights\u201d. The report discusses relevant violations of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 24 January, Theatre for everybody (Gaza) and Az Theatre in London are staging jointly\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/war-peace-unforseen-war-stories-gaza-and-london\/\">War and Peace<\/a> in Gaza, a multidimensional production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In London, on 30 January, Slough Palestine Solidarity Campaign is hosting an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/locations\/tesco-community-room\/\">event<\/a>\u00a0entitled \u201cPalestine vs. Israel, Football and Politics\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unrwa.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2016_opt_emergency_appeal.pdf\">The Emergency Appeal<\/a> published by UNRWA outlines its programmatic response to the humanitarian needs in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) for the year 2016 in order to meet the minimum humanitarian needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 19 January, Robert Piper, UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the OPT, and Felipe Sanchez, the Director of UNRWA Operations in the West Bank,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/reliefweb.int\/sites\/reliefweb.int\/files\/resources\/hc_unrwa_joint_statement_abu_nuwar_final.pdf\">called for an immediate revocation of plans<\/a> to transfer Palestinian Bedouins currently living within in the Jerusalem area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Diplomats from the 17 countries visited the place of recent demolitions by the Israeli authorities in Bedouin communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>From December 2015 through February 2016 UNRWA is conducting a social media campaign\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unrwa.org\/shareyourwarmth\">#shareyourwarmth<\/a>\u00a0to raise US $2 million dollars for vulnerable Palestinian families to help them cope with severe winter conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This newsletter informs about recent and upcoming activities of Civil Society Organizations affiliated with the Â鶹APP Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
