The Committee and the Division for Palestinian Rights of the UN Secretariat provide the information \u201cas is\u201d without warranty of any kind, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, or reliability of the information contained in the websites linked in the newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>NGO Action News<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>04 April 2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>United States<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On 9 March, Columbia University is hosting Sara Saadoun from Human Rights Watch who will discuss a report on why\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sipa.columbia.edu\/experience-sipa\/events\/why-human-rights-watch-is-calling-on-businesses-to-pull-out-of-israeli-settlements-sarah-saadoun\">HRW<\/a> is calling on businesses to pull out of the settlements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 10 March, Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Delaware will host a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.udel.edu\/udaily\/2016\/feb\/justice-palestine-022516.html\">presentation<\/a>\u00a0\u201cBringing Justice to Palestine\u201d by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Chris Hedges. On 11 March, they will screen the award-winning film \u201cOmar\u201d. On 13 March a panel discussion \u201cPerspectives on Palestine\u201d will be held which will explore the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In parallel, a documentary\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.udel.edu\/udaily\/2016\/feb\/al-helm-022916.html\">movie screening<\/a> \u201cAl Helm \u2013 Martin Luther King in Palestine\u201d will be hosted on 15 March.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On May 6, The Jerusalem Fund in Washington D.C. will launch the 2016 Hisham Sharabi Memorial lecture: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/events\/event\/2016-hisham-sharabi-memorial-lecture-palestinian-education-for-the-21st-century-with-dr-fouad-moughrabi\/\">Palestinian education for the 21st\u00a0century<\/a>\u201d with Dr. Fouad Moughrabi. Before that, on 29 March, the Jerusalem Fund is hosting an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejerusalemfund.org\/events\/event\/palestinian-youth-in-the-occupied-territory-a-film-screening-and-presentation-with-reverend-dr-mitri-raheb\/\">event<\/a>\u00a0\u201cPalestinian Youth in the Occupied Territories\u201d by Reverend Dr. Mitri. During the event two short films \u201cPraise of the Wounds\u201d and \u201cLife of Pigeons\u201d will be screened.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Europe<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On 7 March, the Irish Centre for Human Rights in Dublin is hosting a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsc.ie\/event\/galway-israels-exploitation-of-contiguous-gas-resources-in-the-occupied-palestinian-territory-ichr-nuig\">seminar<\/a> \u201cIsrael\u2019s Exploitation of Contiguous Gas Resources in the Occupied Palestinian Territory\u201d by Dr. Susan Power.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 12 March, Silk Road Film Festival in Dublin is organizing a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsc.ie\/event\/dublin-film-screening-roshmia-srff\">film screening<\/a> of \u201cRoshmia\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 15 March, in Dublin, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsc.ie\/event\/belfast-visualising-conflict-in-palestine-imagine\">organizing an informal discussion<\/a> \u201cVisualising Conflict in Palestine\u201d facilitated by Dr. Brendan Browne and Dr. Julie Norman.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 21 March in the UK, Veronica Pasteur will hold a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/talk-veronica-pateur-returns-from-the-west-bank\/\">talk<\/a>\u00a0on her trip to West Bank where she served as a human rights monitor with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/talk-veronica-pateur-returns-from-the-west-bank\/\">ecumenical accompaniment programme<\/a>\u00a0coordinated by the World Council of Churches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Global<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On 26 March, in Australia, Ali Abunimah, a Palestinian\u2013American journalist and co-founder of \u201cElectronic Intifada\u201d will\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1509076506071179\/\">speak<\/a> during the Marxism 2016 conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 30 March, a Palestinian artist Rafeef Ziadah will launch her new album \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trybooking.com\/Booking\/BookingEventSummary.aspx?eid=180136\">We teach life<\/a>\u201d in Australia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Palestine<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights published its weekly (25 February\u20132 March)\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pchrgaza.org\/en\/?cat=47\">report<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cIsraeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"24px\"><strong>Â鶹APP<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>UNICEF in Jordan did not renew its contract with the G4S security company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This newsletter informs about recent and upcoming activities of Civil Society Organizations affiliated with the Â鶹APP Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
