The Committee and the Division for Palestinian Rights of the UN Secretariat provide the information \u201cas is\u201d without warranty of any kind, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, or reliability of the information contained in the websites linked in the newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>NGO Action News<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>23 December 2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\">Based on a survey mapping of Batan al-Hawa, on 21 December, B\u2019Tselem concluded that the neighbourhood was currently undergoing \u201cthe most extensive dispossession proceedings\u201d in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/press_releases\/20161221_batan_al_hawa_judaization\"><u>East Jerusalem<\/u><\/a> in recent years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In relation to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/gaza_strip\/20161221_killing_of_muhammad_abu_saed\">killing of a young man<\/a>\u00a0by the Israeli army\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/gaza_strip\/20161221_killing_of_muhammad_abu_saed\"><u>in November in Gaza<\/u><\/a>, on 21 December, B\u2019Tselem expressed concern in a press release entitled \u201cOnce again: Israeli military unlawfully shoots and kills Gazan protester and no-one will be held to account\u201d<b>.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 20 December, the Alternative Information Centre (AIC) expressed concern about the confiscation of land in the ancient <a href=\"http:\/\/alternativenews.org\/index.php\/headlines\/298-israel-confiscates-land-in-palestinian-cemetery\"><u>Al Rahmah Muslim cemetery<\/u><\/a>, adjacent to the eastern walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. Israeli authorities had been continuously\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maannews.com\/Content.aspx?id=767385\">confiscating land<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Sc4jJFJHJTw\">demolishing graves<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.maannews.com\/Content.aspx?id=774270\">preventing burials<\/a> in Bab al-Rahmah cemetery to build the Jerusalem Walls National Park, the AIC stated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 19 December, BADIL Resource Centre released a film entitled <a href=\"http:\/\/www.badil.org\/en\/publication\/press-releases\/77-2016\/4693-pr-en-201216-67.html\"><u>\u201cFleeing the Same War\u201d<\/u><\/a>, demanding greater protection for Palestinian refugees fleeing Syria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\"><b><u>Europe<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\">On 19 December, the UK-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/take-action-israeli-settlement-football-teams\/\"><u>Palestine Solidarity Campaign<\/u><\/a> called on citizens to ask Members of Parliament to raise the issue of FIFA recognising football teams from illegal Israeli settlements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The Spanish Xabaca initiative to support <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fundacionalfanar.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/xabaca_callDEF.pdf\"><u>Arab women art<\/u><\/a><u>ists<\/u>\u00a0has announced scholarships open to female artists from Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon and Palestine. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2017.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\"><b><u>North America<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\">To improve scholarship about Palestinian affairs and strengthen linkages between Palestinian, American and other research institutions, the <a href=\"http:\/\/parc-us-pal.org\/\">Palestinian American Research Centre<\/a>\u00a0has announced six\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/parc-us-pal.org\/\"><u>2017-18 travel and research fellowship competitions<\/u><\/a>.
