The Committee and the Division for Palestinian Rights of the UN Secretariat provide the information \u201cas is\u201d without warranty of any kind, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, or reliability of the information contained in the websites linked in the newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>NGO ACTION NEWS<br \/>\n11 November 2016<\/u> <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Global<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A petition in support of the October 2016 UNESCO resolution on Jerusalem has been posted on the change.org website.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Middle East<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As part of its Facts on the Ground campaign focusing on Israel\u2019s extraction of natural resources in the OPT, on 9 November, Al-Haq posted an article entitled \u201cTime for <u>Palestinian Natural<\/u> <u>Resources<\/u> to be in the Hands of the Palestinian People\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Warning that \u201cthousands of <u>Area C Residents Face Expulsion<\/u>\u201d and calling to share the information in order to prevent it, on 9 November, the Israeli NGO B\u2019Tselem reported attempts by the Israeli administration to force the displacement of residents in the northern Jordan Valley.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To mark the UN International Solidarity Day with the Palestinian People, on 26 November, the Belgian Palestine Solidarity movement is hosting a colloquium entitled \u201cPalestinians: Prisoners of the Occupation\u201d with B\u2019Tselem Research Director Kareem Joubran and Palestinian National Initiative party leader Mustapha Barghouti.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 25 October, the Palestine Return Centre in London hosted the launch of the \u201cBalfour [declaration] Apology Campaign\u201d inside the House Lords, seeking official acknowledgement of Palestinian suffering.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>North America<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Showcasing \u201cThe Gaza Kitchen\u201d cookbook issued by Just World Books, from October 2016 to February 2017, Just World Education will work with university departments and community groups across the US to raise awareness about food insecurity in Gaza. As part of the <u>Gaza Food<\/u> <u>System Education Project<\/u>, seminars will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss the issues via Skype with experts from Gaza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 30 November, the <u>Jerusalem Fund<\/u> in Washington will host a talk entitled \u201cLiving in Limbo: East Jerusalem\u2019s Neighbourhoods behind the Separation Barrier\u201d with legal expert Moien Odeh, Visiting Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 8 December, <u>Americans United for Palestinian Human Rights<\/u> (AUPHR) and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) are sponsoring in Portland a dinner event to benefit the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA) organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>From 1 to 8 December, the Jewish Community Centre (JCC) Manhattan in New York will host the <u>The Other Israel<\/u> Film Festival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Latin America<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, on 17 November, the University of Externado and the Palestinian Diplomatic Mission to Colombia are organizing in Bogot\u00e1 a colloquium entitled \u201cGeneral Overview of the Human Rights Situation in Palestine: Perspectives from the International Community and Academia\u201d.\u00a0 Speakers will include Colombian and Spanish academics as well as Randa Siniora, General Director of the Women\u00b4s Center for Legal Aid and Counseling in Ramallah.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; This newsletter informs about recent and upcoming activities of Civil Society Organizations affiliated with the Â鶹APP Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.
