The Committee and the Division for Palestinian Rights of the UN Secretariat provide the information \u201cas is\u201d without warranty of any kind, and do not accept any responsibility or liability for the accuracy, or reliability of the information contained in the websites linked in the newsletter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<h2 class=\"entry-title fusion-post-title\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\"><strong>NGO Action News<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a020 February 2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><u>Middle East<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">On 20 February, Adalah and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) issued a press release expressing concern about a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adalah.org\/en\/content\/view\/9043\"><u>Knesset bill<\/u><\/a> that, if approved, would prevent foreign non-residents who have publicly expressed support for BDS from entering Israel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">On 20 February, B\u2019Tselem published the accounts of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/gaza_strip\/20170220_winter_without_electricity\"><u>Palestinian women<\/u><\/a> setting out the impact of Gaza\u2019s electricity crisis on their daily lives (\u201cWinter 2017: Living without electricity just an hour and a half away from Tel Aviv\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">On 19 February, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) in Gaza organized a roundtable with representatives of political parties and civil society organizations which concluded that \u201cholding <a href=\"http:\/\/pchrgaza.org\/en\/?p=8818\"><u>elections<\/u><\/a> in Gaza and the West Bank simultaneously is a legal and national necessity\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">On 15 February, B\u2019Tselem reported threats by Israeli soldiers against residents of Kafr Qadum village, west of Kedumim settlement near Nablus, warning them not to participate in the weekly protests against <a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/demonstrations\/20170215_night_raids_in_kafr_qadum\"><u>access restrictions<\/u><\/a><u>.<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\">On 13 February, B\u2019Tselem released a new interactive documentary (\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/theinvisiblewalls.btselem.org\/\"><u>The Invisible Walls of Occupation<\/u><\/a><u>\u201d<\/u>)\u00a0leading viewers on a virtual tour of the West Bank village of Burqah with a focus on settlements and settler violence. The documentary is based on a B\u2019Tselem\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/publications\/summaries\/201410_invisible_walls_of_occupation\"><u>case study<\/u><\/a> by the same name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><u>Europe<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\">On 28 February, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign is hosting a talk on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palestinecampaign.org\/events\/talk-palestine-international-humanitarian-law-david-mcdowall\/\"><u>Palestine and International Humanitarian Law<\/u><\/a>\u00a0with author David Mc Dowell.\u00b7\u00a0On 16 February the Palestinian Return Centre launched a petition as part of its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.prc.org.uk\/portal\/index.php\/activities-news\/press-release\/3601-balfour-declaration-apology-petition-launched-in-london\"><u>Balfour Apology Campaign (BAC)<\/u><\/a>\u00a0calling on the British Government to apologise for the Balfour Declaration and lead peace efforts in Palestine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\"><b><u>North America<\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"text-align: left;\" data-fontsize=\"18\" data-lineheight=\"27px\">From 25 to 28 February, <a href=\"http:\/\/jstreet.org\/conference\/\"><u>J-Street<\/u><\/a>\u00a0will hold its 2017 National Conference under the theme \u201cDefending our Values, Fighting for our Future\u201d.\u00b7\u00a0On 13 February, 160 participants from across the United States completed the second webinar of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.badil.org\/en\/publication\/press-releases\/86-2017\/4734-pr-en-160217-13.html\"><u>\u201cConversations on Palestine\u201d<\/u><\/a>\u00a0series jointly organized by BADIL and Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP).
