\/>\n<\/strong><strong>27 October 2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><u>Middle East<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 2 November, <a href=\"http:\/\/7amleh.org\/2017\/09\/25\/social-media-conference-social-media-for-social-change-2nd-november-in-ramallah\/\">7amleh-Arab Center for Social Media Advancement<\/a> and Forum Civil Peace Service are hosting in Bethlehem the conference \u201c<em>Social Media for Social Change<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The next conference of the <a href=\"https:\/\/debateforpeace.wordpress.com\/\">Debate for Peace<\/a> programme, bringing Palestinian and Jewish high school students from all over Israel together to participate in Model Â鶹APP conferences, will take place on 2 November at Bashaer High School in Sakhnin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 25 October, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.btselem.org\/download\/201710_unprotected_eng.pdf\">B\u2019Tselem<\/a> and Hamoked Center for the Defence of the Individual issued the joint report \u201c<em>Unprotected \u2013 Detention of Palestinian Teenagers in East Jerusalem<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In a brief \u201c<em>Unremitting collective punishment against Palestinians<\/em>\u201d released on 23 October, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alhaq.org\/advocacy\/targets\/accountability\/81-general\/1145-unremitting-collective-punishment-against-palestinians\">Al Haq<\/a> denounced that families of Palestinians accused of perpetrating attacks against Israelis were subject to punitive measures such as the confiscation of money and personal property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 4 October, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dci-palestine.org\/detained_teens_in_gaza_highly_vulnerable_to_abuse?utm_campaign=26_10_octnews&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=dcipalestine\">Defence for Children International (DCI)-Palestine<\/a> expressed concern that teens detained in Gaza were highly vulnerable to abuse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>North America<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 12 November, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.docnyc.net\/film\/naila-and-the-uprising\/\">Just Vision<\/a> will present in New York a new documentary \u201c<em>Naila and the Uprising<\/em>\u201d, featuring the role of women leaders during the first Intifada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 11 November, the <a href=\"http:\/\/masspeaceaction.org\/event\/balfours-legacy-confronting-the-consequences\/\">Alliance for Water Justice in Palestine<\/a> and the Trans Arab Research Institute are organizing in Cambridge, Massachusetts the conference \u201c<em>Balfour\u2019s Legacy: Confronting the Consequences<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 9 November, Iyad Burnat will discuss at Hunter College in New York the practice of nonviolent action led by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/reports-from-the-frontline-iyad-burnat-and-resistance-tickets-39241306805\">Popular Committee of Bil\u2019in<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Between 8 November and 2 December, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.openbethlehem.org\/screenings.html\">Open Bethlehem<\/a>\u201d, a documentary feature by filmmaker Leila Sansour, will be screened in different locations across the United States.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 7 November, Fayrouz Sharqawi, Advocacy Coordinator with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.grassrootsalquds.net\/\">Grassroots Jerusalem<\/a>, will speak at the New Jerusalem Fund in Washington, D.C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 29 October, Sheila Katz will speak at a <a href=\"http:\/\/masspeaceaction.org\/events\/\">Cambridge Friends Meeting<\/a> in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on \u201c<em>Connecting with the Enemy: A Century of Palestinian-Israeli Joint Nonviolence<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 23 October, Nadim Nashif, member of <a href=\"https:\/\/al-shabaka.org\/briefs\/surveillance-palestinians-fight-digital-rights\/\">Al Shabaka-The Palestinian Policy Network<\/a>, issued a policy brief \u201c<em>Surveillance of Palestinians and the Fight for Digital Rights<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>On 21 October, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nlginternational.org\/2017\/10\/october-21-minneapolis-parallel-liberation-struggles-lessons-in-resistance\/\">National Lawyers Guild International Committee<\/a> organized a conference \u201c<em>Parallel Liberation Struggles: Lessons in Resistance<\/em>\u201d exploring similarities in the situation of Palestinians, African Americans and Native Americans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Europe<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.association-belgo-palestinienne.be\/appel-mission-dobservateurs-civils-belges-2018\/\">Association Belgo-Palestinienne<\/a> is inviting interested citizens to take part in a field visit to Israel\/Palestine which will be conducted in February 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Between 23 and 28 October, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipsc.ie\/\">Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign<\/a> is hosting journalist David Cronin as he tours Ireland to launch his new book \u201c<em>Balfour\u2019s Shadow: A Century of British Support for Zionism and Israel<\/em>\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Asia<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 23 October, the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (<a href=\"https:\/\/bdsmovement.net\/news\/16-million-strong-organization-india-joins-bds-movement\">BDS<\/a>) National Committee reported that the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) trade union representing millions of farmers, which is affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), had joined the global BDS
