Positivity\u00a0stands at 4.30%\u00a0over the reporting period\u00a0(22 October to 18 November 2021).<\/li>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip, positivity continues to decrease, while\u00a0remaining\u00a0rather high\u00a0at 13%.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0overall Case Fatality Rate (CFR)\u00a0across oPt\u00a0remains\u00a0at\u00a01%.\u00a0The CFR is the proportion of\u00a0deaths\u00a0among\u00a0identified\u00a0confirmed\u00a0cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Laboratory testing and diagnostics<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of tests conducted in the oPt\u00a0over\u00a0the\u00a0reporting period is 93,901\u00a0tests,\u00a0with\u00a0an overall positivity of\u00a08.28%.\u00a0In the Gaza Strip,\u00a0an average of 956 tests took place per day while the\u00a0average\u00a0in the West Bank was\u00a02,368 tests per day.<\/li>\n<li>In order to\u00a0maintain COVID-19 testing capacity in the Gaza Strip, during the reporting period, WHO delivered COVID-19\u00a0laboratory testing kits and supplies, including real time-PCR tests, antigen rapid diagnostic tests, in\u00a0addition\u00a0to supplementary kits\u00a0and supplies, that are enough to test\u00a0more than\u00a073,000\u00a0COVID-19 suspected cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/i3.createsend1.com\/ei\/j\/EF\/60A\/C32\/001034\/csfinal\/IMG_9905-9900000000079e3c.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Case Management, Operations Support and Logistics\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip, the number of patients requiring hospitalization\u00a0continues to\u00a0decrease,\u00a0with\u00a0an\u00a0overall bed occupancy\u00a0of\u00a028%, with\u00a070\u00a0beds out of a total of\u00a0247\u00a0currently occupied.<\/li>\n<li>Bed occupancy at intensive care units (ICU) is also\u00a0improving, with\u00a09\u00a0patients (20%) occupying a total capacity of\u00a045\u00a0beds, including\u00a0two\u00a0patients\u00a0on mechanical ventilation.<\/li>\n<li>In\u00a0the West Bank, hospitals continue to respond to\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0situation: ICU bed occupancy\u00a0is\u00a051%\u00a0with\u00a048\u00a0ICU beds occupied out of\u00a095,\u00a0and\u00a08\u00a0patients on ventilators.<\/li>\n<li>As part of\u00a0its\u00a0continued\u00a0efforts in expanding the capacity of\u00a0the Gaza\u00a0health system\u00a0in\u00a0case management,\u00a0WHO concluded\u00a0two series of training, targeting a total of 112 nurses and 46 doctors, on\u00a0intensive care management of COVID-19 patients.\u00a0The trainings used\u00a0combined\u00a0methods, including printed material,\u00a0face-to-face presentations, and practical workstations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout two-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/i4.createsend1.com\/ei\/j\/EF\/60A\/C32\/001034\/csfinal\/Post-test-99028a0514028a3c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload gnd-corner-image gnd-corner-image-center gnd-corner-image-bottom\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/i5.createsend1.com\/ei\/j\/EF\/60A\/C32\/001034\/csfinal\/Workstation-990b6d028a028a3c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"229\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Maintaining<\/strong><strong>\u00a0essential services<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Scaling up Early Essential new-born\u00a0care to NGO run maternity hospitals\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In its effort to introduce early essential new-born care (EENC) in several maternity hospitals in Gaza, the WHO organized a workshop on October 28, to present (EENC) as a package of evidence-based life-saving interventions during delivery and the early new-born period. Such interventions can effectively reduce the risk of new-born morbidity and mortality.
