Positivity\u00a0dropped\u00a0to\u00a04.98\u00a0% from\u00a07.31%\u00a0a fortnight ago.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0overall Case Fatality Rate (CFR)\u00a0across oPt\u00a0remains\u00a0at\u00a01%.\u00a0The CFR is the proportion of\u00a0deaths\u00a0among identified confirmed\u00a0cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Laboratory testing and diagnostics<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of tests conducted in the oPt\u00a0over\u00a0the\u00a0third\u00a0week of\u00a0October\u00a0stands at\u00a034,940\u00a0tests, and an overall positivity of\u00a011.69%.<\/li>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip, testing has decreased, with an average of\u00a02,080 tests per day\u00a0over the past two weeks, while\u00a0positivity\u00a0remains\u00a0rather high\u00a0at an average of\u00a022%.<\/li>\n<li>On 17 October, WHO delivered to the Gaza Central Lab\u00a0Stores 30 kits of\u00a0SARS-CoV-2 real-time\u00a0PCR\u00a0mutations detection tests, that are enough to conduct a total of 2,880 tests. The procured items will enable health authorities to\u00a0detect the main four SARS-CoV-2 variants:\u00a0B.1.1.7 (Alpha), B.1.351 (Beta), P.1 (Gamma) and B.1.617 (Delta). This activity was made possible with support from the Humanitarian Pooled Fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/i5.createsend1.com\/ei\/j\/6A\/B3B\/79B\/192728\/csfinal\/IMG_98101-9900000000079e3c.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Case Management, Operations Support and Logistics\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip, the number of patients requiring hospitalization\u00a0is\u00a0gradually decreasing,\u00a0with\u00a0an\u00a0overall bed occupancy\u00a0of\u00a033%, with\u00a0181\u00a0beds out of a total of 555 currently occupied.<\/li>\n<li>Bed occupancy at intensive care units (ICU) is also\u00a0improving, with\u00a025\u00a0patients (28%) occupying a total capacity of 90 beds, including\u00a0two\u00a0patients\u00a0on mechanical ventilation.<\/li>\n<li>In\u00a0the West Bank, hospitals continue to respond to\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0situation\u00a0accordingly: ICU bed occupancy\u00a0is\u00a055% (compared to 79%\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0previous\u00a0report)\u00a0with\u00a058\u00a0ICU beds occupied out of\u00a0101,\u00a0and\u00a011\u00a0patients on ventilators\u00a0(down\u00a0from 19\u00a0two weeks ago).<\/li>\n<li>As part of its ongoing efforts in supporting the health system\u2019s response to the COVID-19 emergency, WHO\u00a0is supporting Gaza health authorities\u00a0in conducting\u00a0a series of\u00a0trainings\u00a0for a total of 100 nurses and 50 doctors to build their capacity in intensive care management of COVID-19 patients.\u00a0So far, a total of 33\u00a0and 45\u00a0junior doctors and\u00a0nurses have\u00a0benefited\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0trainings, which\u00a0use\u00a0combined\u00a0methods including printed material, face-to-face presentations, in addition to practical workstations.<\/li>\n<li>As part of the International Infection Prevention and Control Week, WHO supported health authorities in conducting a series of activities to raise the awareness of healthcare workers and those attending to health facilities on the importance of infection prevention and control. The activities included 6 lectures targeting healthcare workers in public hospitals and primary healthcare centers; a seminar with participation from 150 senior\u00a0Ministry of Health (MoH)\u00a0personnel, public health experts, and partner organizations; and an awareness raising campaign for the general public, including in five primary schools (refer to the above pictures). More than 7,000\u00a0people, including 3,500 school children, are estimated to have benefited from the conducted activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"size-14\" lang=\"x-size-14\"><strong>Maintaining Essential workshops\u00a0on\u00a0perineal tears repairs\u00a0as part of NORWAC&#8217;s Safe Childbirth Project.\u00a0Through out the workshops obstetricians and midwives from\u00a0Kamal Odwan and Al and\u00a0466,619\u00a0in Gaza.\u00a0These figures represent around\u00a050.52%\u202fof the\u00a0target\u00a0Palestinian\u202fpopulation\u00a0(16\u00a0years and above).<\/li>\n<li>Of these numbers,\u00a0a\u00a0total\u00a0of\u00a01,244,873\u00a0are\u00a0fully vaccinated:\u00a0924,392\u00a0in West Bank, and\u00a0320,481\u00a0in Gaza.<\/li>\n<li>Administering\u00a0of
