Question<\/u>:\u00a0 And a second question, for the last several days, Israel’s been trading\u2026\u00a0 well, they’ve been targeting\u2026\u00a0 hitting targets in Gaza, and Israel’s been rocketed from Gaza.\u00a0 Does the Secretary\u2011General have any comment on this escalating\u2026<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 I mean, we’re obviously concerned about these reports that we’ve seen, and I think it is important that all the parties involved move towards a de\u2011escalation and avoid any further actions that could make the situation worse, especially for civilians, both in Gaza and in Israel.<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Two questions.\u00a0 First, a follow\u2011up on Palestine and Israel.\u00a0 As you know, six Palestinian political prisoners escaped last week, and four of them were re\u2011arrested.\u00a0 There are some media\u2026\u00a0 local media reports that the four who were arrested or some of them are facing torture, and family members were also arrested.\u00a0 So, do you have any comments on that? \u00a0Are you following\u2026?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 We’re, obviously, following the situation.\u00a0 It is important that prisoners everywhere be afforded the rights that international human rights standards afford them and everybody.<\/p>\n

Question<\/u>:\u00a0 And do you have, like, somebody who is in contact with Israelis\u2026?<\/p>\n

Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 I will check on that, but I know our\u2026\u00a0 the Office of the Special Coordinator is, in fact, following.<\/p>\n
