During her visit, the HC met with health officials and\u00a0was\u00a0briefed\u00a0on the humanitarian health situation, including needs and challenges,\u00a0and discussed potential\u00a0support from the humanitarian community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Surveillance<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"layout one-col fixed-width stack\">\n<div class=\"layout__inner\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The WHO risk assessment remains\u00a0high, despite a drop in active cases\u00a0across the oPt as a whole.\u00a0COVID-19\u00a0infections in the\u00a0Gaza\u00a0Strip\u00a0still\u00a0account for\u00a0almost all\u00a0cases, at\u00a093%<\/li>\n<li>In the West Bank,\u00a0the situation\u00a0has significantly improved, with just 267 active cases, while\u00a0testing has increased\u00a0again\u00a0with\u00a0positivity\u00a0dropping right down to 1.5%<\/li>\n<li>The breakdown of active COVID-19 cases across the oPt is as follows: Gaza Strip (92.7%), followed by the West Bank governorates of Nablus\u00a0(2.8%), Jenin (1.2%), Ramallah\u00a0(0.9%),\u00a0Tulkarm and Tubas both (0.5%),\u00a0Hebron\u00a0and Jericho both (0.2%) and Bethlehem\u00a0(0.1%)<\/li>\n<li>The overall Case Fatality Rate (CFR)\u00a0across oPt\u00a0remains at\u00a01.1%.\u00a0The CFR is the proportion of\u00a0deaths\u00a0among identified confirmed\u00a0cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Laboratory testing and diagnostics<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The number of tests conducted in the oPt has decreased by\u00a010% during the reporting period (11\u00a0&#8211; 17\u00a0June), with\u00a016,382\u00a0tests\u00a0conducted<\/li>\n<li>In the Gaza Strip, COVID-19 testing has\u00a0picked up after the temporary drop during the recent hostilities.\u00a0An average of\u00a0921\u00a0tests per day have been conducted over the past\u00a0two\u00a0weeks\u00a0(4 \u2013 17\u00a0June) with a positivity rate of\u00a021%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Isolation and Case Management, Operations Support and Logistics\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0overall occupancy rate of COVID-19 dedicated hospital beds in the\u00a0Gaza Strip is\u00a016%, with\u00a069\u00a0of\u00a0441\u00a0beds\u00a0occupied.\u00a0Currently,\u00a0ten\u00a0of the\u00a041\u00a0Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds\u00a0(24%) are\u00a0occupied, with three patients on invasive\u00a0ventilation<\/li>\n<li>The medical response situation\u00a0in the West Bank\u00a0continues to improve significantly: ICU bed occupancy\u00a0is\u00a0lower\u00a0again\u00a0at\u00a015%\u00a0(13\u00a0ICU beds out of 86 occupied) &#8211; with\u00a0just\u00a0two\u00a0patients\u00a0now\u00a0on ventilators\u00a0compared to 40 five weeks ago.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Risk Communications and Community Engagement &#8211; A bilateral purchase from the Russian &#8216;Gamaleya&#8217; research lab, this vaccine is administered as a single dose<\/li>\n<li>On 2 June, COVAX delivered 72,000 AstraZeneca\u00a0vaccines, of which 62,400 doses went to the Nablus cold store in West Bank, and 9,600 doses to Gaza. More doses are due to arrive in Gaza from the West Bank shipment in time<\/li>\n<li>One week previously, on 25 May, the third COVAX shipment arrived in oPt: 102,960 doses of Pfizer vaccines, of which 56,160 doses went to West Bank and 46,800 doses to Gaza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Numbers of Vaccinated (as of 17\u00a0June 2021)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>436,275\u00a0people have been vaccinated in total across the oPt:\u00a0383,984\u00a0in\u00a0the West Bank\u00a0(excluding East Jerusalem), and\u00a052,291\u00a0in Gaza.\u00a0These figures represent around 8.7%\u00a0of the total Palestinian\u00a0population<\/li>\n<li>Of these numbers, the total who have received their second dose\u00a0are\u00a0260,713\u00a0in the oPt overall\u00a0(excluding East Jerusalem)<\/li>\n<li>The circa 110,000 Palestinian workers who have been vaccinated by Israel are included in the total numbers of vaccinated stated above<\/li>\n<li>In the Gaza\u00a0Strip, there are currently\u00a0around\u00a030\u00a0active vaccination centers, in addition to\u00a0other\u00a0hospitals, providing COVID-19 vaccines to people above 30 years of age<\/li>\n<li>From 31 May, local authorities in Gaza started\u00a0mandatory\u00a0COVID-19 vaccination for all public sector employees,\u00a0starting\u00a0with staff of ministries of Health, Education, and
