The\u00a0UN\u00a0Palestinian\u00a0Rights Committee<\/a>\u00a0will hold\u00a0the Â鶹APP Forum\u00a0on\u00a0\u201cThe Question of Palestine: Threats of Annexation and the Prospects for Peace\u201d\u00a0on\u00a04 June\u00a02020 from\u00a010.00\u00a0a.m.\u00a0to\u00a011.30\u00a0a.m. (New\u00a0York\u00a0Time)<\/strong>,\u00a0via WebEx.\u00a0The event\u00a0will\u00a0 be livestreamed on UN Web TV<\/a><\/p>\n

Three prominent speakers\u00a0\u2013 Ms.\u00a0Hanan\u00a0Ashrawi, Member of the PLO Executive Committee\u00a0and former member of the Palestinian\u00a0team\u00a0in the Middle East Peace Process; Mr.\u00a0Yossi\u00a0Beilin,\u00a0Former Israeli Cabinet Minister\u00a0and\u00a0participant in the 1993 Oslo Accord negotiations; Mr.\u00a0James Zogby, Founder and President of the Arab American Institute \u2013\u00a0will outline prevailing challenges and formulate recommendations to overcome the current political impasse for salvaging peace prospects. Through raising awareness among international audiences \u2013 Member States, civil society and media \u2013 about the imminent threat posed by Israel\u2019s\u00a0annexation\u00a0plans,\u00a0the Forum is expected to help\u00a0raise awareness of these illegal plans and their dangerous repercussions if implemented, to mobilize\u00a0these audiences\u00a0to prevent Israeli annexation of areas in the occupied West Bank, and to\u00a0identify possible\u00a0options\u00a0for a way forward.<\/p>\n
