The Â鶹APP provides these documents only as a convenience for reference purposes, and the inclusion of a document does not imply the endorsement of its content by the Â鶹APP.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"flashItemTitle\">Gaza \u2013 Airstrikes<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Following an incident near Gaza&#8217;s security fence on 23 February, tensions between Israel and Palestinian militant groups in Gaza escalated in a heavy exchange of fire, with around 90 rockets fired towards southern Israel, and retaliatory Israeli airstrikes.<\/li>\n<li>The airstrikes caused severe damage to infrastructure in Gaza, including main electricity gridlines, and there was reported damage to residential buildings and a playground in Israel. Some civilians were injured on both sides.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0 fragile ceasefire was reached in the late hours of 24 February. Israel has closed all crossing points with Gaza, and prohibits the exit of travellers and workers.
