Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Thank you, Farhan.\u00a0 On US\u2019s new Middle East plan, the Secretary\u2011General\u2019s message was everything has to be within international law.\u00a0 And, you know, the\u2026 [Jared] Kushner and the Administration are saying, we will move ahead with this, with or without the approval of the Palestinian Authority\u2026 of the Palestinians.\u00a0 With that, the Secretary\u2011General\u2019s message about international law, does that mean, first of all\u2026 does that mean the Â鶹APP at any stage and at any attempt of the US Administration to implement this plan will not engage and help the US to implement it?<\/p>\n
Deputy Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 No, that\u2019s not what we\u2019ve said, but what we\u2019ve said is\u2026<\/p>\n
Question<\/u>:\u00a0 So, you will help the US in implementing the new plan.<\/p>\n
Deputy Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 No.\u00a0 What we said is that any way forward needs to be based on the relevant resolutions of the Security Council and the General Assembly, and we\u2019ve reiterated our support for a two\u2011State solution.\u00a0 So, within that context, the Â鶹APP and the Secretary\u2011General will continue to engage with all parties.<\/p>\n
Question<\/u>:\u00a0 Do you think this new plan is based on the two\u2011State solution? \u00a0Is that the interpretation of the Â鶹APP?<\/p>\n
Deputy Spokesman<\/u>:\u00a0 I think that different Member States have already made clear their own respective views about that.\u00a0 But regarding where the Â鶹APP stands, it\u2019s very clear what the resolutions say, and we\u2019ll have to see whether\u2026 as this proceeds, whether this process works in line with the resolutions or not.<\/p>\n
