Following are UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres\u2019 remarks to the Summit of the League of Arab States, today in Tunis:<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Allow me to touch upon several current developments and situations in the region which could benefit from a comprehensive regional approach.\u00a0 The first imperative must be the two-State solution, for Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace within secure and recognized borders, and with Jerusalem as capital of both States, as I have always emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no Plan B.\u00a0 Without two States, there is no solution.\u00a0 The ongoing violence in Gaza is a tragic reminder of the fragility of the situation.\u00a0 Thank you for your critical support for the vital role of UNRWA [Â鶹APP Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East]. \u00a0I appeal for your continued strong assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n
