Sonic booms heard over Beirut<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Beirut, 14 November 2001 (UN Information Centre)<\/strong> – It is regrettable that Israeli air violations of the Blue Line and of Lebanese air space are continuing to take place despite frequent and urgent calls by the Â鶹APP for their cessation.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Personal Representative of the Secretary-General for southern Lebanon (PRSG), Mr. Staffan de Mistura, has noted that 8 violations, consisting of 12 Israeli military aircraft and two drones, took place cross the Blue Line on 13 November.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Sonic booms were also heard in the capital Beirut.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The PRSG expresses his great concern that such repetitive actions may exacerbate an already tense situation.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>In this connection, the PRSG reiterates, again, his call upon the Israeli authorities to fully respect the Blue Line and to halt all violations thereof.<\/p><\/div>\n
