The following communication has been received from the Jewish Sefaradim, Tel-Aviv, in response to the letter addressed to it by the Commission on 20 February 1948.<\/p><\/div>\n

WE REPRESENTATIVES OF JEWISH SEFARADIM HEREBY EMPOWER THE JEWISH AGENCY AND ITS ACCREDITED REPRESENTATIVES TO NEGOTIATE ALSO ON OUR BEHALF WITH UNITED PALESTINE COMMISSION OF UNO ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PROVISIONAL COUNCIL OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE JEWISH STATE. WE POINT OUT THAT SAME POWER WAS GIVEN TO THE JEWISH AGENCY AND ITS ACCREDITED REPRESENTATIVES BY CABLE ON 6TH FEBRUARY THROUGH MR. SHERTOK. AS REGARDS OUR POSITION IN THE SAID COUNCIL THE NEGOTIATION CONTINUES DIRECTLY BETWEEN US AND THE JEWISH AGENCY<\/p><\/div>\n
