\n\t\t\t\tThe Executive Board,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t1.\t<\/span>Recalling<\/u> all the resolutions and decisions adopted by the General Conference and the Executive Board of Unesco regarding the protection and safeguarding of the cultural property in the city of Jerusalem, in particular 22 C\/Resolution 11.8,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tHaving noted the report of the Director-General contained in document 120 EX\/14,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t3. \t<\/span>Considering<\/u> it necessary, after examination of the above-mentioned report and in the light of the relevant discussions, to provide additional detailed information, in particular on the following:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tthe effects of the digging of a tunnel along the western wall of Haram al-Sharif; the experts’ study on the fabric of the Al-Madrasa Al-Manjakiyya,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t4.\t<\/span>Considering also<\/u> that the Israeli occupation authorities have not yet replied to the letter of the Director-General dated 27 July 1984,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t5.\t<\/span>Invites the Director-General to take whatever steps he deems necessary to obtain the additional detailed information required, and to report to the 121st session of the Executive Board;\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t6.\t<\/span>Decides<\/u> to include this topic on the agenda of its 121st session so as to take an appropriate decision on the matter in the light of the Director-General’s report.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

6.2\t<\/span>Assistance to Lebanon: report by the Director-General<\/u> (120 EX\/19 and 120 EX\/37)<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\tThe Executive Board,\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t1.\t<\/span>Having examined<\/u> the Director-General’s report on assistance to Lebanon (120 EX\/19),\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t2.\t<\/span>Invites the Director-General to continue his efforts, using all the means at his disposal, to assist the Lebanese authorities in carrying out the projects already identified by the Organization, for which extra-budgetary financing is necessary;\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t3.\t<\/span>Renews its invitation<\/u> to Member States to increase their voluntary assistance so that Unesco can participate in the safeguarding of the Lebanese cultural property which is part of the world cultural heritage, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Hague Convention of 1954, and in the reconstruction of Lebanon in the fields falling within its competence;\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t4.\t<\/span>Once more expresses the wish<\/u> that the Â鶹APP system should cooperate with the Lebanese Government, at the latter’s request, for the purpose of preparing and implementing, as rapidly as possible, a global plan for the reconstruction of Lebanon;\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tInvites the Director-General to inform the Executive Board at its 121st session, in either a written or an oral report, of progress achieved in implementing this decision.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
