\t<\/span>The Delegation of Israel to the 47<\/span>th <\/span>General Conference of the IAEA rejects the continued efforts by several delegations of Arab States to pursue political issues through the Credentials Committee, as reflected in Document GC(47)\/22 of 17 September 2003 addressed to the Chairman of the Credentials Committee of the General Conference of the IAEA.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>As clearly outlined in Article IV of the “Rules of Procedure of the General Conference”, the procedure of credentials examination is intended solely to ensure that credentials of delegations have been properly issued and presented in a timely manner.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>This procedure is in no way a political one; nor is it intended to be used as a means for advancing political interests. The contents of the above-mentioned document is therefore beyond the responsibilities of the General Committee and is irrelevant to the purpose and duties of the IAEA and this important General Conference.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Delegation of Israel requests that this document be included in this 47<\/span>th <\/span>Conference’s report and be treated as an official document of the Conference.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
