Tel Aviv bombing: statement by PACE President René van der Linden<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

Strasbourg, 18.04.2006 – René van der Linden, President of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE), made the following statement concerning yesterday’s suicide bombing in Tel Aviv: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“I resolutely and unconditionally condemn this act and call on all sides to do the same. The slaughter of innocent people can never be justified by any cause. It can never be ‘self-defence’. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“Only last week the Assembly called on Hamas to renounce violence and condemn terrorist actions. It must now do so, clearly and unambiguously. Killing innocents will never bring peace.” <\/p><\/div>\n
