Erez crossing remained closed for all Palestinians except for those with special coordination arrangements with the Israeli District Civil Liaison. Sufa crossing was open for humanitarian and commercial commodities on 5 days compared to 8 days in the previous reporting period. Kerem Shalom was open on 6 out of the 10 scheduled days. Karni&#8217;s conveyor belt\/chute was open on three days only. Overall, a total of 621 truckloads, including 104 from humanitarian agencies, were allowed into Gaza, compared to 954 in the previous reporting period (35% decrease). Starting 17 January, Israel started to place additional restrictions of access for traders. On 13 January, approximately 180 Palestinians, including students and those holding residency permits in foreign countries, were allowed to exit Gaza for Egypt via the Erez-Nitzana crossings route.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:left;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><strong>Changes of note since Report No. 56 (8 January):<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Rafah <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing has been generally closed for the movement of people for 213 days (last open 9 June).<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Karni <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing has been closed since 12 June for the movement of goods into and out of Gaza. One single-lane conveyor belt\/chute for wheat grain and animal feed was open on three days (9, 14 and 17 January) for a total of 20 hours, compared to 22 hours in the previous period. A total of 217 truckloads of grains and animal feed entered Gaza, compared to 194 in the previous reporting period.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Sufa <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing was open on 5 days, compared to 8 days in the previous reporting period. A total of 169 truckloads, including 58 from humanitarian agencies, were allowed into Gaza.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Kerem Shalom <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing was open on 6 days for the entry of commercial and humanitarian goods, compared to 10 days in the previous reporting period. An equivalent of 235 truckloads, including 46 from humanitarian agencies, crossed into Gaza through Kerem Shalom, compared to 537 truckloads in the previous period.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Erez <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">crossing remains closed since 12 June for all Palestinians, except for a limited number of Palestinian traders, aid workers and medical cases who have been granted special permits. Erez crossing was open 12 out of the 14 scheduled days. The crossing has been closed since March 2006 for Palestinian workers.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:SymbolMT, monospace;\">&#8226; <\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\"><strong>Obstacles to movement in the West Bank <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color:#000000;font-size:10pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">remained the same as in the previous reporting period (563).
