SECRETARY-GENERAL APPOINTS MAX GAYLARD OF AUSTRALIA AS DEPUTY SPECIAL COORDINATOR<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

FOR MIDDLE EAST PEACE PROCESS, AD INTERIM<\/u><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Â鶹APP Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has asked Max Gaylard ( Australia), a senior Â鶹APP official with extensive experience in humanitarian and development coordination, to serve as Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process ad interim.  The Secretary-General has asked Mr. Gaylard to travel to the region this week to lead the Â鶹APP country team in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Mr. Gaylard is currently serving as the Director of Mine Action with the Department of Peacekeeping Operations and has previously served as the Humanitarian and Resident Coordinator in Somalia and as the Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq.<\/p><\/div>\n
