Â鶹APP Department of Public Information Hosts Annual Training Programme for Palestinian Journalists, 7 November – 8 December<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Nine Palestinian journalists from broadcast, print and online media will participate in a training programme organized by the Department of Public Information, from 7 November to 8 December.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The main objective of the programme is to expose the media practitioners to the work of the Â鶹APP, especially its various activities and programmes affecting the lives of the people in Palestine and the region.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

The journalists will attend briefings by senior officials of the Â鶹APP and participate in different meetings with media experts, policy-makers and non-governmental organizations based in New York.  Furthermore, during a week-long visit to Washington D.C., they will meet with media industry leaders, think-tanks, and governmental and non-governmental organizations and agencies.<\/p><\/div>\n

The media practitioners will also attend a two-week specialized course at Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre, in Doha, Qatar.  The hands‑on skills training will focus this year on digital media and TV journalism.<\/p><\/div>\n

The nine journalists that will participate this year are: Kamilia Abualhaj, TV Reporter, Kuwait Television; Mohammed Abusidu, Journalist and Filmmaker, <\/i>Al Ghad Al Araby Channel; Karmel Albadawneh, News Editor and Presenter, <\/i>Radio Bethlehem 2000; Diana Alkhayyat, News and Programmes Anchor, Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation; Mohammed Almadhoun, News Anchor and Senior News Editor, Palestine Today; Majd Alwahaidi, Reporter, The New York Times<\/i>; Reham Anabtawi, Program Presenter and Online News Editor, Raya Radio Network; Duha Ayyad, News Anchor, Palestine TV; and, Ahmed al-Bazz, Photojournalist& Reporter, Activestills.<\/p><\/div>\n

The training programme for Palestinian journalists was set up in 1995, following the adoption of a General Assembly resolution requesting DPI to provide assistance to the Palestinian people in the field of media development. Since then, more than 170 Palestinian journalists have benefitted from this programme.<\/p><\/div>\n
