Paris, from 20 to 22 June 1994, under the auspices of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People in accordance with its mandate under General Assembly resolution 48\/158 A of 20 December 1993. In that resolution, the Assembly requested the Committee to mobilize international support and assistance to the Palestinian people during the transitional period.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Committee decided to hold the seminar as a contribution to the debate on how to promote Palestinian economic and social development, which it considers essential for the achievement of a just and lasting peace.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"color:#000000;text-align:justify;font-size:11pt;font-family:Times New Roman, serif;\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;\"><span class=\"Apple-tab-span\" style=\"white-space:pre; font-size:smaller\">\t<\/span>The Committee was represented by a delegation comprising H.E. Mr. K&#233;ba Birane Ciss&#233; (Senegal), Chairman of the Committee and head of delegation; H.E.
