SYRIA REPLIES TO REQUEST FOR ARMISTICE NEGOTIATIONS<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Acting Â鶹APP Mediator on Palestine has received, through his representative in Damascus, the following communication from the Syrian Government in response to his letter of November 17 regarding negotiations on an armistice:<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>"The Syrian Government thanks you for your offer of good offices but could start negotiations with the Jews only if accept and recognize establishment Arab state for whole Palestine and definitively renounce establishment Jewish state in Palestine.  Moreover Syrian Government obliged ask in first place for execution Security Council's resolution of 4 November and its application to Galilee sector ____, withdrawal Jews from Negev and Galilee to their positions prior to October 14."<\/p><\/div>\n
