THE PORTUGUESE GOVERNMENT WELCOMES THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE CEASE-FIRE<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

The Portuguese government welcomes the announcement of the cease-fire that will allow an end to the hostilities in Gaza and southern Israel. The cessation of violence is the only means to end the suffering of the people and pave the way for a lasting solution to the conflict.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Portugal welcomes the international mediation efforts that achieved this result, in particular the role of the President of Egypt, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the UN Secretary-General, and calls on the parties to fully respect the agreement.<\/p><\/div>\n
