I welcome today's publication of the <\/span>report<\/a> by the Middle East Quartet.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

France shares its conclusions. This report emphasizes in particular the destructive effects of settlement activity and of the violence jeopardizing the two-state solution. For France, as for the entire international community, the two-state solution is the only one possible.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

This report's conclusions validate the French initiative to bring the international community together to work on peace in the Middle East; their first meeting was held on 3 June and attended by nearly 30 international partners.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

To this end, France will continue to work closely with the Quartet's members and with all its partners to help implement the report's recommendations and prepare for the peace conference slated for the end of the year.\/<\/p><\/div>\n
