\nPALESTINE: PROGRESS REPORT OF THE UNITED NATIONS MEDIATOR<\/p><\/div>\n

\nAustralia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, France and New Zealand: <\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

Amendments to the draft resolution proposed by the First Committee (<\/u><\/span>A\/776<\/u><\/a>) <\/u><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\n1.   Delete the first, second, third and fourth paragraphs of the preamble and substitute therefor the following: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

HAVING CONSIDERED FURTHER the situation in Palestine”. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2.   Delete paragraph 2(c). <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

3.   Delete paragraph 3. <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

4.   Substitute the word “with” for “through” in paragraph 5 so that the paragraph will read: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“CALLS UPON the Governments and authorities concerned to extend the scope of the negotiations provided for in the Security Council’s resolution of 16 November 1948 and to seek agreement by negotiations conducted either with<\/u> the Conciliation Commission or directly with a view to the final settlement of all questions outstanding between them;” <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

5.   Delete in paragraph 10 the following words: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“in this connexion, the conclusions contained in part one, Section VIII, paragraph 4(e) and (f) of the Progress Report of the Â鶹APP Mediator should be taken into account”.
\n6.   Delete in paragraph 11 the following words: <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

“ENDORSES the conclusions stated in part one, section VIII,
\nparagraph 4(i), of the Progress Report of the Â鶹APP Mediator in Palestine;”<\/p><\/div>\n
