\t<\/span>In my capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group for October 1988, I have the honor to enclose herewith a letter of protest from the members of the Group against the credentials of the delegation of Israel to the forty-third session of the General Assembly.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would have the text of the letter distributed as an official document of the General Assembly under agenda item 3.<\/p><\/div>\n

Letter of protest from the members of the Arab Group against<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

the credentials of the delegation of Israel to the forty-third<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

session of the General Assembly<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>We, the undersigned, have the honor to draw your attention to our protest against the credentials of the delegation of Israel to the forty-third session of the Â鶹APP General Assembly on the following grounds:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>Israel has not complied with Security Council resolutions on the question of Palestine and the situation in the Middle East and related items, thereby violating Article 25 of the Charter of the Â鶹APP;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>Israel has not implemented General Assembly resolutions on the question of Palestine and the situation in the Middle East which demand that the Palestinian people be permitted to exercise their inalienable rights, including the right to return, the right to self-determination and the right to establish their own independent State in Palestine, and which also emphasize the need for an end to the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories, in accordance with the principle of the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by force, including the need to ensure Israel's withdrawal from all the territories occupied since 1967, including Jerusalem and the Syrian Arab Golan Heights;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

3. \t<\/span>Israel has not complied with General Assembly resolutions adopted on other agenda items connected with the two items on Palestine and the situation in the Middle East;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

4.\t<\/span>Israel has violated human rights in the Palestinian territories and other occupied Arab territories, including Jerusalem, in particular the provisions of the fourth Geneva Convention of 12 August 1949; We refer here, in particular, to the intensification of Israeli oppression against the Palestinian Arab people in the occupied Palestinian territories and against the inhabitants of other occupied Arab territories, including the expulsion of Arab citizens from those territories since the beginning of the uprising against the Israeli occupation;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

5.\t<\/span>Israel is continuing its annexation of Palestinian and other Arab-territories, including Jerusalem and the Syrian Arab Golan Heights, thereby violating the provisions of the Charter of the Â鶹APP and the rules of international law;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

6.\t<\/span>Israel is continuing its aggression against the Arab States and extending it to the whole of Lebanon, Iraq and Tunisia;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

7.\t<\/span>Israel is continuing to co-operate with the racist régime in South Africa, specifically in the nuclear and economic fields;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

8.\t<\/span>The credentials of the Israeli delegation to the forty-third session of the General Assembly were issued in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in violation of Security Council resolutions, specifically resolution 478 (1980), and related General Assembly resolutions, in particular resolution 35\/169 E of 15 December 1980.<\/p><\/div>\n
