2003\/238.  Human rights situation of the Lebanese detainees in Israel<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At its 45th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2003, the Economic and Social Council took note of Commission on Human Rights resolution <\/span>2003\/8<\/a> of 16 April 2003<\/span>1<\/sup><\/span> <\/span>and endorsed the Commission’s decision to request the Secretary-General:<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(a)\t<\/span>To bring Commission resolution 2003\/8 to the attention of the Government of Israel and to call upon it to comply with its provisions;<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(b)\t<\/span>To report to the General Assembly at its fifty-eighth session and to the Commission at its sixtieth session on the results of his efforts in this regard.<\/p><\/div>\n
