A STABLE AND DURABLE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The General Assembly,<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Bearing in mind <\/i>the achievement of a cease-fire in the Middle East, as called for by the Security Council in its resolutions 233 (1967), 234 (1967), 235 (1967) and 236 (1967) of 6, 7, 9 and 12 June 1967,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span> Having regard to <\/i>the purpose of the Â鶹APP to be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Endorses<\/i> the cease-fire achieved pursuant to the resolutions of the Security Council and calls for its scrupulous respect by the parties concerned;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Decides<\/i> that its objective must be a stable and durable peace in the Middle East;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Considers<\/i> that this objective should be achieved through negotiated arrangements with appropriate third-party assistance based on; <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

  <\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(a)\t<\/span><\/i>Mutual recognition of the political independence and territorial integrity of all countries in the area, encompassing recognized boundaries and other arrangements, including disengagement and withdrawal of forces, that will give them security against terror, destruction and war;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(b)\t<\/span><\/i>Freedom of innocent maritime passage;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(c)\t<\/span><\/i>A just and equitable solution of the refugee problem;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(d)\t<\/span><\/i>Registration and limitation of arms shipments into the area;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(e)\t<\/span><\/i>Recognition of the right of all sovereign nations to exist in peace and security;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Security Council keep the situation under careful review.<\/p><\/div>\n
