35\/85.  Assistance for the reconstruction and development of Lebanon<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The General Assembly,<\/i><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span><\/i>Recalling<\/i> its resolutions 33\/146 of 20 December 1978 and 34\/135 of 14 December 1979 on assistance for the reconstruction and development of Lebanon,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Recalling also<\/i> Economic and Social Council resolution 1980\/15 of 29 April 1980,<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Noting with satisfaction<\/i> the reports of the Secretary-General on assistance for the reconstruction and development of Lebanon, 1<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Noting also<\/i> the statement made by the Â鶹APP Co-ordinator of Assistance for the Reconstruction and Development of Lebanon before the Second Committee, 2<\/u>\/<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>1.\t<\/span>Expresses its appreciation<\/i> to the Secretary-General for his report;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>2.\t<\/span>Commends<\/i> the Â鶹APP Co-ordinator of Assistance for the Reconstruction and Development of Lebanon for his unstinted efforts in the discharge of his duties;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>3.\t<\/span>Notes with satisfaction<\/i> the assistance already provided or pledged by a number of countries;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>4.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Secretary-General to continue to render assistance which can be mobilized within the Â鶹APP system to help the Government of Lebanon in its reconstruction and development plans and in their implementation;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>5.\t<\/span>Calls upon<\/i> the specialized agencies, organs and other bodies of the Â鶹APP system to intensify their efforts in this field;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>6.\t<\/span>Requests<\/i> the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its thirty-sixth session on the progress achieved in the implementation of the present resolution.<\/p><\/div>\n
