 1997\/265.  Human rights situation in southern Lebanon and West Bekaa<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

At its 38th plenary meeting, on 22 July 1997, the Economic and Social Council, taking note of <\/span>Commission on Human Rights resolution 1997\/55<\/a> of 15 April 1997, <\/span>1<\/u><\/span>\/ approved the Commission's request to the Secretary-General: <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

(a) To bring the resolution to the attention of the Government of Israel and to invite that Government to provide information concerning the extent of its implementation thereof; <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

(b) To report to the General Assembly at its fifty-second session and to the Commission on Human Rights at its fifty-fourth session on the results of his efforts in that regard. <\/p><\/div>\n
