NOTE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At its 3467th meeting, on 29 November 1994, following the adoption of resolution 962 (1994), the President of the Security Council made the following statement:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>"In connection with the resolution just adopted on the renewal of the mandate of the Â鶹APP Disengagement Observer Force, I have been authorized to make the following complementary statement on behalf of the Security Council:\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>"As is known, the report of the Secretary-General on the Â鶹APP Disengagement Observer Force (S\/1994\/1311) states, in paragraph 17:  'Despite the present quiet in the Israel-Syria sector, the situation in the Middle East continues to be potentially dangerous and is likely to remain so, unless and until a comprehensive settlement covering all aspects of the Middle East problem can be reached.'  That statement of the Secretary-General reflects the view of the Security Council."\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
