\t<\/span>In my capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group for the current month, I have the honour to transmit herewith the letter of the Deputy Permanent Observer for the Palestine Liberation Organization to the Â鶹APP, dated 9 September 1985, concerning the repression in the Palestinian territories under Israeli military occupation (see annex).<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would arrange for this letter and its annex to be circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under items 33 and 38 of the provisional agenda, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n

Palestine Liberation Organization to the Â鶹APP<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

addressed to the Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Pursuant to our letters of 3 and 6 September 1985, I am instructed by Yasser Arafat, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, to bring the following to your urgent attention.  During the past weekend there has been an intensification of repression in the Palestinian territories under Israeli military occupation. Additional Israeli military forces have been deployed throughout the Israeli occupied Palestinian territories.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Furthermore, the Israeli occupation authorities have been actively involved in encouraging and organizing provocative and threatening marches and demonstrations by fascist Zionist settlers through Palestinian towns and villages.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Your attention is also directed to the serious threats made last week by Israeli officials against the Palestine Liberation Organization to take direct military action against PLO Offices in Amman and elsewhere if Palestinians in the<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

occupied territories continue to challenge Israeli military occupation.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>In drawing your attention to the gravely worsening situation, I am requested to call upon your good offices to take immediate and appropriate action.<\/p><\/div>\n
