LETTER DATED 13 JUNE 1967 FROM THE MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS (A\/6717)<\/p><\/div>\n

Afghanistan, Burundi, Ceylon, Congo (Brazzaville), Cyprus, Guinea, <\/u>
\nIndia, Indonesia, Mali, Pakistan, Somalia, United Republic of Tanzania, Yugoslavia and Zambia: draft resolution<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Immediate withdrawal of the armed forces of Israel from territories belonging to Jordan, Syria and the United Arab Republic<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

The General Assembly, <\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Having discussed<\/u> the grave situation in the Middle East, <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

Noting<\/u> that the armed forces of Israel occupy areas including territories belonging to Jordan, Syria and the United Arab Republic, <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1. Calls upon<\/u> Israel immediately to withdraw all its forces behind the armistice lines established by the General Armistice Agreements between Israel and the Arab counties;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2. Requests<\/u> the Secretary-General to ensure compliance with the present resolution and, with the assistance of the Â鶹APP Truce Supervision Organization established by the Security Council, to secure strict observance by all parties of the provisions of the General Armistice Agreements between Israel and the Arab countries;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

3. Calls upon<\/u> all States to render every assistance to the Secretary-General in the implementation of the present resolution;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

4. Requests<\/u> the Secretary-General to report urgently to the General Assembly and to the Security Council on Israel's compliance with the terms of the present resolution;<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

5. Requests<\/u> the Security Council, after the withdrawal of Israel's armed forces behind the armistice lines has been completed, to give consideration to questions pertaining to the situation in the area.<\/p><\/div>\n
