Letter dated 23 March 2004 from the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to the  Â鶹APP addressed to the President of the Security Council<\/strong> <\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>In my capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group for the month of March 2004, I have the honour to refer to the <\/span>letter dated 22 March 2004<\/a> from the Permanent Observer of Palestine to the Â鶹APP to the President of the Security Council regarding the extrajudicial execution by Israel, the occupying Power, of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin today in Gaza City.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Accordingly, and in my capacity as Chairman of the Arab Group, and on behalf of the States members of the League of Arab States, I have the honour to request an immediate meeting of the Security Council to consider the above-mentioned grave Israeli violation of international humanitarian law and the escalation of Israeli military attack against the Palestinian people and their leadership and to take the necessary measures in this regard.<\/p><\/div>\n
